A public AniList username or a MyAnimeList XML export gives the menu its reference points. Taste notes add the nuance.

Guest or invited Lite?

Guest inputs are request-local. Invited Lite accounts can save a profile, encrypted keys and feedback. Each has its own storage boundary.

Know your counter.

Two ways to use the counter. One separate companion for the library.

What do I need to try it?

A model key from one of the listed providers, plus a public AniList username or a MyAnimeList XML export. Taste notes are optional. Provider charges and availability depend on your own account.

What happens to a guest request?

Your key, watch history, and notes pass through this server to prepare the request for your selected provider. They are held for the request, not saved to a guest profile. The model provider has its own data policies. The entered key is cleared after a menu finishes successfully.

What changes with a Lite account?

Lite is invitation-only. It adds a saved profile, encrypted reusable provider keys, past menus, and feedback such as Watching and Already Watched. Optional AniList linking can synchronize supported progress and scores. Guest requests and saved accounts have different storage boundaries.

What is Omakase Plus?

Plus is my separate private anime-library companion. It connects recommendations, episode checks, Plex, and viewing progress. This public counter does not grant access to it.

Can I run Omakase myself?

Yes. The open-source project includes the browser counter and a command-line workflow. Self-hosting also supports local model setups that the public counter cannot reach.
